Duties
- This consultant will be responsible to work with Nutrition International’s AMAN, country office and regional office team as well as external vendors and agencies to deliver the communications and knowledge translation deliverables of AMAN project. The detailed duties and responsibilities are listed below.
- Execute/implement and monitor the communications plan of AMAN efficiently to build the profile of Nutrition International in Bangladesh.
- Create and oversee the production of diverse external communications and knowledge translation products including factsheets, project briefs, project presentations, case studies/success stories, policy briefs, press releases, advocacy papers, project reports, donor reports, etc. (including research, content curation, drafting, editing, layout, publication).
- Plan and organize events (managing a local event management agency) including workshops, seminars, end of project dissemination, etc.
- Work closely with the Bangladesh country team and Nutrition International Asia regional office to identify and create opportunities for external communication to highlight the successes of the project.
- Ensure broad media coverage and visibility (manage a local public relations agency) to sensitize them about Nutrition International’s work and highlight key project achievements in Cox’s Bazar. Be able to identify story angles and key messaging/positioning in consultation with the Asia regional office.
- Coordinate with Nutrition International’s external relations team in the Asia regional office to ensure a smooth flow of information and decision-making on communication and outreach aspects.
- Hire, manage and guide local communication agencies/vendors as required.
- Identify key opportunities and activities for posting on social media, draft social media posts and share with regional external relations team for publishing.
- Identify and prepare stories for the internal newsletter of Nutrition International.
- Identify and develop human interest/impact stories highlighting case studies from the field about the impact of Nutrition International’s work related to AMAN. Work with AMAN project staff to organize pre-production of stories (i.e. identifying interview subject matter, planning pre-production checklist and itinerary, etc.).
- Document AMAN’s key impacts through visual storytelling and documentation- photography/videography (managing an external photographer/videographer).
- Write, copyedit, proofread and finalize layout (working with a designer) of program reports and publications.
- Coordinate/work closely with AMAN’s external project partners to deliver on the above tasks.
Requirements
Education
- (Master’s degree highly preferred) in mass communication/ international development
Experience
- At least 5-7 years of work experience in communications for development/humanitarian sector. Previous experience working with INGOs, and/or UN agencies on international programs in Bangladesh highly preferred.
