Program Manager- World Concern Bangladesh
World Concern Bangladesh is looking for energetic and promising person for immediate appointment of Program Manager position on a contractual basis and invites applications from Bangladeshi Nationals. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
A) Project Management:
- Prepare concept notes, theory of change, project proposals & budget as per funding partner required format.
- Operate & develop IDP project as per plan. Ensure that the program is implemented as per the design and in conformity to the log frame.
- All the interventions are carried out with quality and integrity in the community to make deep impact for a longer term.
- Conduct monthly meetings with the Community Volunteers and develop plans for program implementation and budget utilization without any variances.
- Provide technical guidance to the Community Volunteers regularly through monitoring visits.
- Implementation of project activities within target villages following the project strategic plan and M/E framework.
- Ensure timely implementation of all project activities.
- Ensure the project reports are submitted on time.
- Ensure there is Action Reflection and Learning is an ongoing exercise within the team and among the community leadership.
- Facilitate the establishment of community structures to ensure the sustainability of the project even after exit.
- Ensure staff performance evaluation and contribute to strategy planning.
B) Planning and Timely Reporting
- Prepare and provide Monthly Activity Plans, Quarterly reports, half yearly and annual reports and update the monitoring evaluation framework according to the stipulated schedules.
- Provide Project Specific information to the Program & Operations Manager to update the Monthly Program review template on SharePoint.
C) Quality Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
- Develop MEAL system for the project and provide technical support for need assessment, PDMs, and narrative and financial report on time to management and donors.
- Make overall Planning, monitoring and evaluation of the project.
- Collect simple Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) information and beneficiary stories, to reflect and use this for learning and improvement and for donor reporting.
- Ensure and facilitate Monitoring and Evaluation information be communicated back to villages in a way that encourages reflection and action.
- Ensure that program is monitored by making use of the M&E framework and updated in regular intervals.If needed program plans and budgets are revised based on the reflection of monitoring together with the community and team with an adaptive programming approach.
- Develop monthly work plan, setting quarterly, half yearly and annual target and implement the activities to achieve the target.
- Prepare monthly numerical & Narrative report, quarterly, mid-term and annual narrative reports for WCB, head quarter and donor partners.
D) Financial Management
- Ensure expenditures follow and comply with World Concern purchasing policies.
- Budget preparation and planning, analyzing variance reports, recommending adjustments and advising on program management decisions as necessary.
E) Personal Development, Leadership and Mentoring
- Attend training, develop and self-assess competency profiles, receive coaching and be continuously learning and growing in ability to facilitate development.
- To provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to co-community facilitators in the implementation of the project activities within the target villages/area.
- Any other duties as may be assigned and seek assistance from the Supervisor.
- Assist in hiring and arranging staff orientation and WC core values training
F) Team building:
- As a team leader, provide spiritual nurture for the OVT team. Be responsible for adhering to the Core Values and pursuit of the mission and vision of the WC always.
- Play the role of a coach and mentor to build the capacities of the team and ensure their performance is managed in line with the HR standards & guidelines.
- Identify the training needs for staff development and plan appropriate training.
- Run the project smoothly in close cooperation and coordination with CD, HR & Admin, P&OM& FC and Program related dept. and to attend meetings, seminars and workshops.
- Provide guidance to overall team works in the field time to time.
G) Networking:
- To build effective and working relationships with local government officials, service providers and other important stakeholders.
- To build strong and cordial relationships with the community people, traditional leaders and local CBOs.
- To be part of networks of likeminded NGOs/INGOs to share resources for strengthening of program implementation and also to avoid duplication and wastage time and resources.
- Make liaisons with govt. related and DV or special braches activities.
H) Resource mobilization:
- Support the efforts Resource Advancement department by submitting stories of transformation and good success stories.
- Perform social empowerment of the poor and their institutions (groups).
I) Other Requirements:
- In country Min 5 years of working experience in project management, and thematic supervision and guidance of all aspects.
- Willingness to field visit (at least 50%) in country and facing challenges.
- Willingness to travel internationally also.
- Maximum age for this post is 45 years.
- Able to drive a motorbike and interested to travel in rural areas having a valid driving license.
- Applicant who has working experience in holistic transformational development work on climate change, disaster risk reduction, good governance, Education, Water Sanitation & Hygiene and women empowerment-related projects will get special priority.
- Model and demonstrate effective Christian leadership and able to lead daily devotions and apply scripture discern God’s direction in planning and decision making (Lead Like Jesus practiced).
- Demonstrated value-guided relational success with government, donors and various stakeholders.
- Understands, articulates and integrates World Concern’s transformational development approach into life and all WC program and operational activities; partners with Church and Christian organizations in Bangladesh and region.
- Should have the good interpersonal skill.
- Good command of Bangla and English.
- Any other official duties as may be assigned by the Country Director or Program & Operations Manager or Senior Management.
Qualifications
Education
- Post Graduate (Social Science/ Sociology, Disaster Management/ Environmental Science or other related subject)
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar position in a reputable organization.
Additional Requirements
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of donor requirements and compliance issues.
Compensation
- Salary: Consolidated Amount of Tk. 75,000/- (Seventy five thousand including all Benefits)
- Yearly increment, Provident fund, Gratuity, Festival Bonus, Life Insurance, Paternity/ Maternity leave, weekly 2-day holiday, phone bill, travel allowance and others as per Organization policy.
